Dream Big or Go Home

May 3, 2022

Ah, success. The bullseye. Everyone thinks about what they’ll do when they finally make their fortune. And we all have a different idea of what success means for us. It could be becoming a movie star, a business owner, a player in the NBA, or the inventor of the next big thing. No matter what you have in mind, though, I’m sure all our ideas have something in common: money.

In relation to your five cores, though, money doesn’t play a huge role. In fact, it only counts for half of your career & finance core, which means it’s only 1/10th of the equation. And yet, when we think of success, we describe it in terms of money. We all pursue this idea of the “American Dream,” but does that contribute to your other cores?

To reinvent your life, and live it to the fullest, you have to take care of all your cores. That includes your career and finances, but you can’t forget your healthy mindset, relationships, physical health, and emotional health & giving back.

What Does Success Mean to You?

You may be trying to convince yourself that you don’t care about the money, you just want to be successful in reinventing your life. Okay. What does success mean to you, subconsciously? Is it cars, houses, and a fancy lifestyle? Why?

When it comes down to it, the answer is pretty simple: money will make you happy. When you’re throwing enormous parties and living in a mansion overlooking the beach like Tony Stark, you’ll be able to live a life of joy and entertainment.

Here are some tips on how to reinvent your life and become successful on your terms:

  • To truly reach happiness, you have to fire on ALL cylinders and take care of your most important business: your life

  • Think about your definition of success; this article on Lifehack could help

  • Money is important; I’ve made money, and I learned from it. It’s definitely part of the equation. But remember that money isn’t the only factor.

  • Remember to prioritize ALL of your cores and balance them equally

If you don’t prioritize ALL of your cores, you won’t become successful, and you won’t be able to reinvent your life.

We see it often in celebrities, especially those who rise to fame early before they could focus on developing all their cores. They have the money, but the other cores are empty; and to fill them, the young celebrities turn to drugs and alcohol, because they feel miserable without them. Reinventing your life includes dreaming of success, but know that what you’re actually dreaming about is happiness and fulfillment.

Reinventing Life: What It Looks Like, and How It Feels

I recently received a great honor at my Alma Mater, Rollins College. I was the first recipient of the new Career Champion in Residence Award. It celebrates a graduate each year for their career success and for giving back and incorporating social value into their careers.

That day was full of panels and discussions to help students move into the real world by themselves. We did activities and I advised about the true meaning of success.

At the end of the day, I gave a presentation on firing on ALL cylinders and taking care of all five cores, not just the career & finance one. It felt amazing to share all my experiences over the years with the students and teach them about how I got to where I am now.

Giving back to the community is what nurtures my emotional core. It makes me feel fulfilled, and that’s why I spend so much time and effort on Moore Momentum. I feel so lucky to be able to guide people into reinventing their lives, balancing their cores, and living a truly happy life, which is what real success is. It gives me the momentum to keep giving back and keep doing more to make this world a better place.

This week’s tip:

Push past the money and write down what your life would look like in each core if you were balancing and prioritizing all of them.

You can also use the new app or download this worksheet to guide you to prioritizing your habits and firing on all cylinders!
